New allocations require document and selfie verification, acceptance of current terms, and a confirmed $1.00 USD payment. Reuse of the same verified identity document is blocked; this is not universal proof of a unique human.

The service does not authorize brokers, resale listings, or premium “legacy” accounts. An allocation belongs to the person who holds it; no brokerage is authorized to sell one.

A third-party listing creates no entitlement to an account. BYTE does not recognize allocation purchases made through brokers or resale marketplaces.

Allocations are personal.
Speculative sale or transfer breaches the current service terms and may result in termination of the allocation, subject to applicable law. There is no authorized transfer mechanism.

One personal allocation in the BYTE continuity registry. A byte is the registry's unit of membership, not a one-byte storage limit. The contribution is exactly $1.00 USD, collected through Stripe after identity verification and acceptance of the current terms. A confirmed payment creates your signed certificate.
No. Preserving records is different from preserving consciousness. A behavioral model may reproduce patterns in someone's language, and genomic information may describe biological traits. Neither demonstrates conscious transfer, personal survival, or future neural synthesis.
Your passkey controls access to your account. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest, and you can download or delete them from your vault. The server manages the storage encryption key. Text is shared with an external persona provider only when you explicitly consent; voice and genomic files are excluded. See the privacy policy for details.
BYTE reports approximately 1,242,034 historical records since its March 1996 founding. That historical total is shown separately from new Phase II allocations, which are counted when payment and identity checks are confirmed. Each new allocation has a signed certificate and a verifiable transaction record.
